“White, clean walls with sturdy industrial elements combined with vintage treasures”. Does this sound familiar to you? That could be right. For month (if not years) the magazines have been filled with beautiful pictures of crisp white walls and fresh Scandinavian inspired interiors. Don’t get me wrong, I loved them and still do! But to be honest, it became a bit boring to see the same thing over and over again. Luckily, there’s a switch noticeable and I couldn’t be happier. Bit by bit these white walls slowly change into colored ones. And not just colors, but dark, very dark tones. And I must say, I LOVE IT! Many people are afraid to put the paintbrush in a bucket of ‘Midnight Blue’ or ‘Emerald Green’, because “it really makes your space look smaller and that’s a pity”. This may be true, but a darker corner or wall gives you a lot of warmth and coziness in return. Other colors in your interior pop out more, like the combination of dark grey walls with green plants. Darker walls add drama and a very classy atmosphere to your room, like entering a hotel lobby in the twenties or walking on the set of The Great Gatsby. Image yourself sitting in your new cozy corner reading a good book or having long dinner evenings with friends. And the best part? Paint is an easy and cheap (yay!) way to completely change the look of your interior. Besides, you can always change it back to its original state if the final results doesn’t turn out to be as hoped for. And if that is not enough to convince you, have a look at the images below…
